US President Donald Trump has warned that Washington could launch another round of military strikes against Iran and reiterated his earlier threat to seize Kharg Island, the country’s main oil export hub, after declaring that the fragile ceasefire between the two sides had effectively collapsed.<\/p>
Speaking on Wednesday on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, T\u00fcrkiye, Trump said the United States had already carried out heavy strikes against Iranian targets following attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and signalled that further military action could follow, AP reported on Wednesday.<\/p>
“We hit them very hard last night,” Trump said. “We’ll probably hit them hard again tonight.”<\/p>
The latest escalation follows Iranian attacks on American military installations in the Persian Gulf, which came in response to recent U.S. strikes targeting Iranian military assets.
