India has successfully test-fired an advanced Agni missile equipped with Multiple Independently Targeted Re-Entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology, marking a major milestone in the country\u2019s strategic missile programme.\u00a0<\/p>
The test was conducted from Odisha\u2019s Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island under \u201cMission\u00a0Divyastra\u201d.\u00a0According to the Defence Ministry, the missile successfully deployed multiple payloads toward different targets spread across a large geographical area in the Indian Ocean Region.\u00a0<\/p>
Though the ministry did not officially name the missile variant, a PTI report quoting defence sources said it was the nuclear-capable Agni-5 missile, India\u2019s longest-range ballistic missile with a strike range of around 5,000 km.\u00a0<\/p>
