Google Shopping Showing Shopping Ads Within Free Listing Grid

Google is reportedly showing shopping ads in the free listing grid in the Google Shopping tab. Previously, Google was better at showing more free listings but that seems to have changed.

Brodie Clark posted on X and SERPalerts saying, “Google is now displaying sponsored ads within the free listing grid results themselves within the Shopping tab, along with the ads that historically have appeared at the top of the page.”

He added, “This is following ads first appearing within grid results in AI Mode, in the main section of search results, and now within the Shopping tab.”

I guess this shouldn’t surprise anyone, Google has been mixing ads with organic results for a long time now.
