🎉 New – DeepSeek AI
DeepSeek AI, the Chinese equivalent of OpenAI, is now integrated into SEOPress PRO. After adding their own DeepSeek key, users can generate SEO metadata for titles and meta descriptions in one click from the SEO metabox.
It can also be done via WordPress bulk actions and from the command line via WP CLI.
Please note that DeepSeek does not yet support generating alt text for your images, as the LLM is unable to read and understand your images. This will be available soon.
🎉 New – Performance enhancements for XML image sitemaps
We have made a significant change to the XML image sitemaps by disabling shortcode execution.
This will drastically improve performance when you have a lot of images per post/page or post type.
This will also prevent breaking your XML sitemap due to incorrect code from third party plugins/themes.
Out of the box, standard images, images in a gallery, featured image, and WooCommerce product images are automatically added to your XML image sitemaps.
But, if you use a page builder that rely on shortcodes (boooh), you will have to enable this by using this filter:
add_filter('seopress_sitemaps_single_shortcodes', '__return_true');
Note that shortcodes are no longer the priority for WordPress core, and they will be progressively deprecated.
🎉 Other news
This new version of SEOPress also brings its share of improvements and fixes including:
- the AI Live chat for PRO users can now be easily disabled from the settings (SEO, Advanced, Appearance, Dashboard section);
- we continue to automate things by enabling by default on new WordPress installation the setting to remove ?replytocom link to avoid duplicate content;
- a compatibility issue with Breakdance and the modal link;
- a fatal error with old WooCommerce version (<9.1)
